Treatments
Routine Examinations
This involves a thorough check of all the teeth for cavities (decay / caries), broken or discoloured fillings, fractures, etc. We also check the gums for any signs of gum disease or any other problems. We check all the areas in the mouth for any sign of oral cancer. If you could benefit from orthodontics (braces) or any sort of cosmetic treatment we will tell you.
Childs Examination
We will check your child's teeth and mouth for any problems, with particular emphasis on prevention of possible future problems. If you feel your child needs some motivation tell them that the dentist is going to count their teeth. If you are worried they will not open their mouth bring their toothbrush so they can show the dentist how well they brush.
Nervous Patients
We appreciate you might be nervous about visiting your dentist so please review our advice for nervous patients here.
Gum Disease
Also called Periodontal Disease or Pyorrohea. This can lead to the loss of all your teeth, even if the teeth themselves are fine. Regular cleaning, as well as good brushing at home, will prevent this.
Tooth Whitening
We provide tooth whitening using the Carbamide Peroxide system from the US. It is a tray-based method that you use at night and provides long-term results. This system is an effective and safe method of whitening discoloured teeth whilst protecting them at the same time against cavities and gum disease.
Fillings
We provide all the latest types of fillings, either white or silver on the back teeth and always white on the front teeth.
Crowns
Sometimes there is very little of a tooth left either due to decay or fracture and a crown is the only way to build up the tooth to its proper size and shape.
Veneers
These are very thin layers of porcelain applied to the front of the teeth to make them any shape or colour you want. You often see these used on American reality makeover shows, we can provide precisely the same treatment.
Bridges
This is a way to replace missing teeth with a tooth fixed in position i.e. non-removable.
Implants
This is another way to replace missing teeth using a titanium screw attached to the bone.
Extractions
Sometimes a tooth is not saveable and needs to be removed. This is never something to look forward to but if it is required we will make it as easy as possible for you by using plenty of local anaesthetic and explaining everything to you as we go along.
Dentures
We provide basic plastic dentures and more advanced metal (Chrome Cobalt)framework dentures.
Fissure Sealants
We provide all available preventive treatments. Fissure sealants are a painless way to prevent tooth decay It is a liquid that flows into the fissures on the biting surface of the tooth and seals them off from decay.
Infection Control
We use a state-of-the-art vacuum autoclave to sterilize all instruments after every use. We try to use disposable instruments as much as possible.
